Female Camp at NZCIS

Female boxing is on the rise, and last year's evaluation across our academies highlighted the need to listen to our female athletes, create spaces designed for them, and invest in their growth. This two-day camp is our pathway to do exactly that: developing our female athletes and coaches together, and building skills our coaches can bring home and reinvest into their academies.

The camp will take place at the NZCIS in Upper Hutt, a premium facility. The nature of the camp will combine Olympic-style boxing skills and techniques with physical and mental self-care: warm-ups, stretching, nutrition, relaxation, mental skills training, and games. Our National Director of Pathways & Performance, will lead coaching and delivery throughout the camp, supported by our awesome female academy coaches from across the motu. Special guest, Alexis Pritchard BSc — 2012 Olympian, 2014 & 2018 Commonwealth Games representative & medalist, and current Performance Sport Team Lead at the University of Auckland —will support coaching and delivery during camp. The camp is aimed at female athletes and coaches from CI partner academies only, especially those competing and preparing for our Development Event at TeAwamutu Boxing Academy on 31 October.

Accommodation will be at the Silverstream Retreat for Friday 16 & Saturday 17 October. This is for athletes and coaches travelling from outside Wellington. Meals include breakfast on Saturday & Sunday for travelling athletes and lunch Saturday for all.
